You may drink the delicious dessert but do you know the facts behind it. Here's a list of crazy and interesting facts that you would never guess about the milkshake.

1. Milkshakes have been around for a long time but how long? The first milkshake was documented in paper in 1885.

2. The first milkshake included the ingredients of milk, ice cream, flavoring, but the odd thing, milkshakes were first made with whiskey to add a little flavor.

3. Milkshakes became very popular when the electric blender was invented in 1922.

4. The milkshake inspired the creation of a bendable straw which made the inventor a millionaire. 

5. If you talk to someone from parts of Canada and New England area people may refer to the milkshake as a "frappe". 

6. If you think a frappe is a weird name, don't go to Rhode Island where a milkshake is called a "cabinet".

7. Dairy Queen leaded the fast food milkshake revolution in 1949. 

8. Another name for a milkshake is from the famous food chain Wendy's who names their milkshakes "frostys"
